HISTORY

The band Shea Roxi started in 1985 when keyboardist/Vocalist Rob Schroeder was looking for a guitarist for his band in Concord Ca.
Adam Molinar went to a Concord warehouse and jammed with Rob, Drummer Sammy Van Horn and Robs brother-in-law on Bass. They jammed together a couple of times but it never really got off the ground.
Soon after Adam invited Rob to come out to Adams jam room in Vallejo ca. with Bassist Steve Nystrom and Drummer Gary Gonzales. After a couple of rehearsals Drummer Sammy Van Horn was asked to step in on drums and the band was starting to take form. They wrote quite a few tunes in the next few months when they we're approached by there soon to be Manager Don Hotton. It was becoming obvious that Rob had mad vocal skills and they needed to get him out from behind the keyboards. They then added keyboard madman Steve Salinas, and Shea Roxi was born.
The year brought many new songs including "Angel" which was getting a lot of local airplay. Shea Roxi started gigging at bars & Clubs all over the bay, Uncle Charlies in Marin,The Chi Chi Club on Broadway, New Georges in Marin, even The Concord Pavilion.
During 1986/87 drummer Joe Bennett took over on Drums and there sound changed even more. Shea Roxi continued writing a lot of material and recorded at many top studios around the bay. The first demos were recorded at Starlight in Richmond Ca. In 1988 Shea Roxi Recorded a demo with producer Jim Gaines at The Record Plant which still sounds great today! Shea Roxi performed at most of the top rock clubs in the bay area, The Stone,The Omni,The Concord Palace, Marriotts Redwood Ampitheater and many county fairs and festivals. The group opened for Richard Marx,Y&T,The Greg Kihn Band,The Tubes,Robin Trower etc.
Shea Roxi was approached by a number of Record Companies but never finalized a record deal with a major label. During 1988 & 1989 the band were writing some of their strongest material but by the end of 1989 the music industry was starting to change and polished power pop bands were starting to be replaced by "The Seattle Grunge Sound" During 1990 Shea Roxi kept the faith and continued on with a different line up but called it quits at the end of 1990.
During 1991 Rob Schroeder and Adam Molinar started a new Project called Edens Burning and continued writing and performing for a couple more years.
